The Turkish Supreme Court of Justice decided that if a child is raised by a lesbian mother, this would be a threat to the moral development of the child. The Court did not uphold the decision of a lower court which granted a lesbian mother the custody of her 2 year old daughter. The Supreme Court defined the lesbian mother as "a woman who has a (sexual) habit in the degree of sickness".
