Plans for Youth Announced
Youth & youth advisors will pay a substantially reduced $35 registration and sleep at the church (so bring a sleeping bag, etc.).
Youth programming will include hang out time, an orientation and worship just for youth & advisors and a discussion of sexuality just for youth, as well as participating in convo workshops, worships and events with the larger community.

consisting of a Civil Demonstration is being planned for those who want to
send the statement that 'We Are Family'
Unitarian Universalist and Director of Development for The Interfaith Alliance,
a national coalition whose mission is to promote religion as a constructive
force. Mark will focus on how we can develop alliances with other churches
that welcome diverse families.
Starr King Professor of History and Sociology of Religion. Elias will speak
on finding deeper and more diverse meanings of "family."
Conducted by Keith Kron, leirector of the UUA Office of Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian
and Transgender Concerns. Workshop fee is $10, payable to the OBGLTC at 25

Orlando is a sunny city full of sparkling lakes and tall palm trees. Dress
is relaxed and informal with February temps in the mid-70's during the days
and mid-50's at night. Numerous beaches are within an hour or two of the
city. Nearby theme parks include the ever-popular 'family' resort
of Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens and more.

Bus lines from the Orlando International Airport are 85 cents plus a 10 cent transfer fee. Taxi cabs cost about $25.
The nearest motel to the First Unitarian Church of Orlando, Colonial Plaza Inn accommodations are $52 plus tax per night, per room. Reserve early since February starts off the "Spring Break" season!
Members of the Orlando congregation are fundraising in a bed and breakfast
style for Convo attendees. Costs are $25 per night for one person and $35
per night for two people.
Fees cover all convocation activities, Saturday banquet and entertainment.
Fees are set on a sliding scale based on total annual income:

A $20 additional late fee will apply to all registrations received after
January 15, 1998. Fees will be refunded in full for cancellations received
before that date; a $20 registration fee will be retained by CONVO '98 for
cancellations after January 15, 1998.
