Convo' 2004 Planning Gearing Up

Planning has already begun for Convocation 2004 which will be hosted at The Unitarian Church of All Souls in New York City.  The date for the event will be February 27-29, 2004.

A special outreach effort to actively involve a broad range of persons in planning and preparation for next year’s event is currently underway.  The goal is to involve a cross section of individuals from various racial/ethnic backgrounds, ages, and economic classes from all parts of the continent, as well as the spectrum of gender and sexual identities.

The Host Committee believes that such diverse participation will best ensure that the upcoming Convocation is the most successful and productive ever!

• Post-meeting questionnaires that were completed by Kansas City participants will be carefully scrutinized by the members of the host committee.
  
• An online chat evaluation will be conducted with a focus group of attendees from this year’s Convocation.  Those interested should immediately make contact using the information listed below so that details as to the web address and format can be arranged.
  
• A Planning Team composed on members from All Souls NYC as well as interested individuals and groups from the New York Metro district is forming.
  
• An Advisory Group will also be created to offer comment on various proposals and ideas.
  
• Do you have ideas or suggestions for program content for next year’s Convocation?  Has there been an idea or program that you wanted to implement in your local congregation but unfortunately lacked the time, money or resources to pull it off well?  Are there certain topics you feel need to be addressed by Unitarian Un iversalist and/or Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered groups?  Is there some person or some organization that you wish could be invited to present a program to us?  Would you like to present or organize a session?  Help us plan the best Convo ever by letting us know what you think!
  
• Whether you are a veteran or newcomer please forward your ideas and suggestions for consideration as soon as possible to the host committee.
