Love Knows No Borders VIDEO TO BE SCREENED SUNDAY DEC 10 AT 3PM

The New York chapter of the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force has developed a 30-minute video which highlights the plight of binational couples due to this country's unfeeling immigration policies. Immigration Equality will be screening this short film at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center on Sunday December 10 at 3pm.

LGIRTF NATIONAL COORDINATOR COMING TO LOS ANGELES THIS MONTH

Lavi Soloway, National Coordinator of the Lesbian and Gay Immigration Rights Task Force, Inc., will be in Los Angeles for the Sunday December 12 screening of ``Love Knows No Borders''. He will speak to the gathering after the screening and update us on the developments with the national organization.

DECEMBER MEETING on TUESDAY the 12th

Monthly meetings of Immigration Equality are on the second tuesday of the month. The December meeting will be on Tuesday December 12 at 7pm at the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center at 1625 North Schrader Boulevard in Hollywood, two blocks west of Cahuenga Boulevard and one-half block south of Holywood Boulevard. Parking is free in the back lot.

SIGN THE PETITION!

Immigration Equality has prepared a petition which we urge all members to sign and to ask their friends and supporters to sign. Here is the text:
We urge the USA to change its immigration policy to stop discriminating against 
its gay an lesbian citizens and people affected by HIV. 

You can get copies of the petition at the ``Love Knows No Borders'' screening or the Dec 12 meeting. We hope to have an HTML version on-line soon.

IMMIGRATION INTERNET ORGANIZING CONTINUES

Immigration Equality continues to use the Internet to further its organizing efforts. Immigration Equality has its own page at www.qrd.org/qrd/www/world/immigration/lgirtfla.html In addition, a mailing list devoted to discussion of issues of immigration and sexual orientation exists, called QI (Queer Immigration).
