Section 80 of the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 1980 decriminalised
male homosexuality in Scotland along broadly the same lines as the
Sexual Offences Act 1967 which applied only to England and Wales.

The CJ(S) Act was brought into effect over a period of time and I think
that it was indeed 1981 before Section 80 came into effect.
