The representative of the New Democracy Party in the Standing Committee on Civil-Law Legislation is Lars Andersson. During the period when he, together with Sten S”derberg, were outside of the New Democracy Party, he advocated a partnership reform. In the parliamentary debate on partnership on May 6th 1992, Lars Andersson asked "all liberal forces to unite" and vote in favour of the social democratic proposal, which expressed the urge for a partnership reform. He also said that it cannot be "reasonable that internal coordination problems and differing opinions among the coalition parties should be reason enough to stop a law that would give the homosexuals right to a partnership". The RFSL has now written to Lars Andersson to remind him of his position.
