After talking with people from the G-L movement, I realized that the situation is not so good. The Spanish political situation is too precarious to continue with the partnership law and the modification of the penal law, previously expected to be completed before next elections. In my opinion, the problem is that the socialists do not have the majority and are in need of support from the Catalan and Basque nationalists, who are conservatives. Also, the goverment has been involved in too many corruption cases and people are quite critical of the socialists, further eroding their support. These problems keep the socialists quiet, and have stalled their plans to proceed with the legislation. Naturally, gays and lesbians are quite disappointed with the goverment. I'll keep you informed.
