Subject: Letter To The Editor

Last Saturday, I had the honor of being selected Seattle Mr. Leather 1998.
As most of you know, a contestant does not prepare by himself.  I had a
large number of friends supporting and helping me.  To list all their names
would take more space than this page (or several like it) would allow.
There are, however, a few people who went that extra mile with me and I
would like to mention them all by name. First and foremost,  I would like to
thank Dragon Xcalibur and Aubrey Hart Sparks for their excellent guidance
and words of wisdom throughout this process at all hours of the day and
night.   My hat is off to the talented group who worked on my fantasy, Miles
Conrad-set design, Dana Dub-music, Steve Tracy and Dan Branagh-players, and
Kristin Knapp-direction.  Also, thanks to Jeff Henness for filling me in on
the history of the Seattle Leathermen's
community prior to 1992. I would also like to thank the producers, Seattle
Mr. Leather 1997-Martin Garcia and Mikhail McMillan, emcees Hobbit Smith and
Scott Rodriquez, stage manager Spencer Bergstedt, contestant coordinator
Todd Nelson, and all of the judges for their hard work. 
In addition, I would like to recognize the continued generosity and support
of Steve and the staff at Neighbours Niteclub, Tim, Scott and the guys at
the Cuff, and Allena Gabosch and the folks at Beyond the Edge Café for
providing locations for events throughout the weekend.
And last but not least, my partner, James Loewen.  Without his encouragement
and love and calmness, this weekend would have been quite an ordeal...

 I look forward to working with many of you in my new capacity as a
titleholder.
