Date: Wed, 12 Aug 1998 10:37:16 -0700 From: Eros Publishing Subject: Press Release W S Ms Leather 1998 Raises $ In Style On Saturday July 11th an amazing thing happened. People came together from all the SM communities to support the efforts of WSMsLeather 98. The cause was a totally vanilla organization, the Mutltiple Scleriosis Association (MSA). A local, non-profit, direct service organization, created to support and educate those afflictated with the often debilatating disease. When approached regarding how he felt receiving funds from such a kinky origin, Merrill Ringold, director of MSA stated the obvious, "this disease can affect anyone -- regardless of their community." It was an evening of great food, exceptional service and terrific fetish designs. Chef Ralph of Beyond the Edge Cafe created a fabulous menu, appealing both in artistic presentation and exceptional flavor. The wait staff (all affiliated with a local 4 star restaurant) provided near flawless service and topped it off by donating all their tips -- some $300. The custom and consignment fetish designers were all local. They ran the gamut from black leather to latex, chainmail to lingerie, and period costuming and corsets to kinky T shirts. Thank you: Touch of Leather, Venus, Blackmarket Chainmail, Aubrey Hart Sparks, and One Wilde Knight. Special thanks to the women of Winter Couture, who organized and MC'd the fashion show. A tremendous round of applause should go to all the women and men who modeled those terrific and often exposing outfits. Bravo! Thanks for getting close to naked for us. You all looked very hot! The evening culminated in the unveiling of the raffle prizes: A set of stainless steel riding crops created by Fetish Works and a 4' single whip by Joe Wheeler. Both of these prize-worthy items were donated by their creators. Thank you. The winners were announced July 25th at Beyond the Edge Cafe during their Saturday fetish night. The raffle ran 2 weeks and Eileen sold tix as far away as Atlanta over IMSL weekend. The raffle itself raised an amazing $700. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to those who purchased tix. Thanks also, to the Wild Rose for allowing WSMsL98 in to sell raffle tix and to get on her knees to measure the inseams of all those luscious women! Have I mentioned how many people were having fun? Nearly everyone I spoke with and some have gone so far as to make reservations now for any future fundraising events Eileen has planned. All in all the event raised over $1300! Look for future dates -- you don't want to miss an opportunity to make a difference. http://www.wolfenet.com/~aubrey/aubrey.htm
