Tell your friends and neighbors: electronic activism WORKS! David. Submitted by: Wynn Wagner III For the second time, the Dallas city council has voted to outlaw discrimination against gays and lesbians for municipal hiring. They passed the same ordinance two weeks ago, but there were problems with the Texas Open Meetings law. The wrong kind of public notice was posted two weeks ago. Now, the ordinance is legal. Apparently folks here in cyberspace really kep the FAX machines busy at City Hall. In some Town Hall meetings, supportive council members brought stacks of FAXs and read some from Oregon and Los Angeles and Boston and on and on. During the council meeting, the mayor said he planned to limit debate on the issue. He said because of the large number of phone calls and FAXs, the council had a really good idea of the issues. He used the term "deluge" when he mentioned FAXs. :-) Bravo.
