This list is a project of the Fight the Right Network (FTRN) and
People For the American Way (PFAW).  It is for information which
will help the advancement of progressive values in the Commonweath
of Pennsylvania and across the nation by:

1) publicizing the existence of progressive groups mobilizing to
counter the message of Religious Right political groups,

2) bringing progressive groups in Pennsylvania together to work
on coordinated strategies and the sharing of resources,

3) publicizing the latest religious right and far-right initiatives
in the state of Pennsylvania, and

4) mobilizing the progressive community.

We hope, through this list, to bring existing groups into contact
with each other, and to bring individuals into contact with those
groups.


=========  Pennsylvania Expose: lists with a publication  ===========

"Pennsylvania Expose" is an e-letter and a fax-letter which is
is published three times a month.  It is based on postings to
pa-expose@critpath.org  and it is distributed through this list. Those
who wish to receive only the publication should subscribe to the
one-way, low-volume list, pa-explv@critpath.org.

1) introductions from new list members,
2) notices about new informational materials
that discuss issues relating to religious and far-right resources,
intiatives, agendas: URLs, newspaper articles, you name it,
3) alerts regarding TV shows, periodicals, or statements by government
or school officials relating to the topic at hand that require an
immediate response,
4) notice of related events,
5) Copies of letters to politicians and the media which you have sent
on related topics.

===============  Postings we will actively discourage  ==============

1) debates about the general wisdom of pushing this message,
2) personal conversations,
3) insults or harassement against other list members,
4) discussion of unrelated topics,
5) terminology debates: radical right vs reactionary right, etc.

Nobody is forcing you to use any of the information you receive and
we are in favor of the free flow of information.  If you see factual
errors, which you can document, feel free to correct them.

If you can't explain to yourself how a post is related to the topic,
don't send it.  If it takes some explaining, explain it as part of the
post.  If you find yourself having to explain every post, something's
wrong.

People engaging in minor infractions will receive a warning.  Major
infractions or repeated warnings will result in expulsion.  This list
will remain civil.  The volume level may be too much for some people
as is.  Extra garbage will make it ineffective and will not be tolerated.

If you receive harassing email as a result of participation
on this list, please let the list owner know immediately, but
do not be suprised if it happens.  We have no fool-proof method
for screening initial subscriptions.
