We educate local, state and federal legislators, the American public and the media about gender-based discrimination and violence. GenderPAC's educational and advocacy programs include the Congressional EEO Project and Fortune 500 EEO Project (both designed to stop gender-based discrimination in the workplace), National Lobby Day, the youth outreach project, community-based research, and In Your Face (an online national news source). DESCRIPTION: The Administrative Assistant will support the Managing Director and Executive Director of GenderPAC. Under the supervision of the Managing Director, the administrative assistant will handle all office administrative work. *Work will require some travel and late nights. Until an office space is secured in NY, travel will be required to Managing Director's home in NJ a few days a week. RESPONSIBILITIES · Maintain database of membership/mailing list · Maintain and manage daily emails, general correspondences, membership renewals and mail at NY PO Box · Coordinate mailings and action alerts online to membership · Coordinate volunteers for events and fund raisers · Coordinate board meetings, conference calls · Special projects as assigned (e.g. fund raising, legislative & youth initiatives, and public education) · Coordinate GenderPAC's presence at annual conference · Schedule speaking engagements for staff and board of GenderPAC (colleges, conferences and special events) QUALIFICATIONS · Excellent oral and writing skills · Highly organized and responsible self-starter, proactive and creative · Ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment · Computer and Internet literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, Quicken and Access a must) · Maintain confidentiality and professional attitude · Knowledge of and commitment to working in a non-profit organization setting and experience with feminist and l/g/b/t community preferred GenderPAC is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes a diverse applicant pool.
