CENTER HOSTS LESBIAN & GAY PROM
-- Queen and King Will Be Crowned --

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

New York City (April 26, 1996) -- For all the men who wish they had a
check-to-cheek dance at Senior prom with the captain of the wrestling team
and the women who wish they could have kissed the girls field hockey coach
under the bleachers, the Lesbian & Gay Community Services Center (208 West 13
Street off Seventh Ave.) will host its annual PROM DANCE Saturday, May 11
starting at 9 pm.  Tickets at the door are $6 for Center members; $8 for
non-members.

Different than your average Prom, the Lesbian & Gay Prom will include men
decked out in sequined prom dresses and women in tuxedoes.  Join hundreds of
participants as they re-enact and re-define this American rite of passage.
 DJ Tennessee will play until 1am.  A Lesbian & Gay Prom Queen and King will
be selected and awarded a prom tiara or crown and sashes (no gender
restriction to enter).
