Subject: McMally play cancelled; Fugard pulls his play from MTC

As most of you have heared, Terrence McNally has had his play "Corpus
Christy" pulled from the scheudle by the Manhattan Theatre Club.  This
appears, from published reports, to be a result of 1.)pressure from The
Catholic Leage [see online site] and threats of violence.  Other
playwrights such as Tony Kushner have joined in reacting to this
censorship.  Athol Fugeard has pulled his own play out of MTC in protest
[see NY Times online].

I am hoping that investigattive reports will be quicly forthcoming. Lynn
Meddows has a good rep in this area, but the office referred me today to
their press rep, who has not returned my calls.

I think this is a really important issue for gay people/queers.

Please look into it, and publish or write as you can.
