An ad hoc group, the Gay and Lesbian Gubernatorial Project, in 
conjunction with members of Gay and Lesbians of America and ACT UP/NY is 
trying to get some last minute concessions from Cuomo before the election.

The demands are 4:

1. Cuomo stop lab-based name reporting of CD4 (t-cell) counts. Since 
nearly every HIV+ person gets CD4s on a regular basis, this policy 
amounts to a collection of names for HIV.

2. Cuomo condemn the Mayersohn bill to mandate HIV testing for pregnant 
women.

3. Cuomo stop testing adolescents in the child-welfare system without 
consent for HIV.

4. Cuomo publicly disavow Pataki's anti-gay positions.


Since NY politics, for better or for worse, effects the nation, everyone 
should get involved.

To register your dissatisfaction with Cuomo, e-mail his campaign 
headquarters (and pass the address on - it's good at least till Tuesday)
