ATLANTIC CITY - (GLB-NEWS) - On July 7th, a gay man was forced to leave a pizza parlor in Atlantic City New Jersey after a customer was offended by the clothes the gay man was wearing. 31 year old Michael Biocco of Clementon New Jersey entered Danny's Pizza at Kentucky and Pacific Ave, wearing a bright pink Betty Boop nightshirt, around 3:00 am. At knees length, it gave the appearance that that was all he was wearing. Danny's Pizza is located one block from Studio Six, a popular gay disco. Gays often stop in for pizza after a night of dancing. A customer, name unknown, got offended when apparently Biocco sat down near him, ordered some pizza, and made a homosexual advancement. The customer then moved himself to another part of the restaurant, yelling anti gay remarks. When other customers questioned the incident, the offended man continued to make a scene by using loud obscene language. "I never made a pass at him. After he had been staring at me for a long time, I returned a friendly 'hello'," said Michael Biocco. "I like to celebrate being gay by wearing unusual outfits. Freedom of expression is part of the first amendment, isn't it? Straight people express their freedom every minute of every day in public places!" Atlantic City doesn't prohibit wearing nightshirts in public as long as shorts or pants are worn underneath. Biocco was wearing swimming shorts at the time. Biocco approached the offended customer after he continued to preach anti gay remarks, adding threats of violence. According to Biocco, the offended customer made a direct threat at him when he asked him to "tone it down a little." Danny's owner Pedro Lazus announced he would call the police if the argument didn't stop. Michael Biocco explained to Lazus that, he was deliberately staring at him, just waiting to start a scene. "I wasn't the one using obscene language and making physical threats. I told the manager that he needed to calm the customer down before I got upset." Biocco said. An argument developed between Biocco and Lazus after he insisted Biocco leave the restaurant. "It was like the manager had no respect for me and was on the other side right from the beginning," added Biocco. The offended customer used a pay phone to call police. Lazus was reported as saying, "I'd throw out a faggot any day over one of my regular customers." Biocco realizing the police were called, fled into an alley. According to Atlantic City Police, "We don't have any record that a call from Danny's was made that night." - end - ACTION ALERT! Tell Danny's you are outraged at their treatment towards gays!
