The most significant event coming up is the hearing of the nuisance lawsuit Camp Sister Spirit's neighbors (funded by Mississippi for Family Values) have filed against the Camp. This is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 1995 and should be settled before that weekend. Most observers feel that this lawsuit is so shaky that there is no way the plaintiffs can win. It will be good for the Camp to win, of course, but many people in the area have threated violence against the Camp if they find there is no legal way to force Camp Sister Spirit out. Therefore, Brenda and Wanda especially want people to come to Ovett on the weekend of May 19-21 to help them guard their lives and the Land. Also, those that have been following the saga of Camp Sister Spirit are aware that the Caretakers at Camp Sister Spirit have long wanted a sturdier gate in place at the roadway. The gate (which Robin Tyler helped them obtain) has finally arrived, but it is enormously heavy (over 1/2 ton) and they need many people there to position it. They hope this too can be done on the weekend of the 19th-21st. For further information, call Brenda or Wanda Henson at (601) 344-1411. --Joe (Atlanta)
