Subject: Topeka Pride events



Hello all you Gayhawks (and Lebihawks and Bihawks):

In addition to the upcoming Kansas City pride events, our friends in
Topeka are planning several events and would love to have supporters from
KU and around Kansas there.  Topeka pride events are scheduled as follows:

Sunday, June 18: Ice Cream Social & Talent Show, 4:30 p.m., Metropolitan
	Community Church, 25th & Indiana.  This event is free.

Thursday, June 22: Variety Show, 8:00 p.m., White Concert Hall, Washburn
	University campus.  $3.00 to enter.

	One of the members of our email list, Ben Buckles, will be
	performing at this show and he sent us the following message
	regarding the event:

           "I tried out and was accepted.  I have been a musician most
           my life, Classical trained in keyboard and other instru-
           ments.  I shall be performing an original composition on
           hammer dulcimer I wrote for my partner, when I learned of
           his diagnosis of AIDS.

           I would greatly appreciate your friendship and support by
           attending the concert, and your support for the Topeka
           community.  It would be nice to see some friendly faces in
           the audience.

           Just wanted you to know.  I'm humbled by the thought of
           performing at this type of event."

Saturday, June 24:  Pride events will be taking place at Expressions and
	Classics.

Sunday, June 25:  Picnic, 5:00 p.m., Shelter house No. 2 at Lake Shawnee.
