SOCIAL WORKERS MEET ON GAY ISSUES

TOPEKA KS - The Committee on Lesbian and Gay Issues of the Kansas City
Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers will host a
statewide meeting July 22 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Jayhawk Tower, 700
Southwest Jackson Street in Topeka.

NASW has requested that the committee meet to discuss the resurgence of
the Theocratic agenda. Specific questions to be addressed at the meeting
include: how can NASW effectively lobby for civil rights protection and
anti-hate crime legislation, how can NASW make these issues more visible
in the Kansas City chapter and membership and how the NASW chapter can
support Lesbian and Gay colleagues.
