Subject: Straight Pride Week is upon us!!

 
My dear conservatives,
	The IU Young Americans for Freedom will be sponsoring the upcoming
Straight Pride Week starting this Monday, October 24, and culminating Friday,
October 28.  We have decided that the radical Gay Lesbian Bisexual factions on
campus have gone too far in protesting for special rights - that we decided to
absurdly put on a week specifically for Straight Pride.  The Gay community has
been up in arms over this whole GLB "culture" center thing over the past few
months - we just can't walk away.  Last time I looked, being gay wasn't a
culture - it is and always will be a sexual preference.  Doesn't it sound
absurd to you that someone's sexual desires determine getting a specially
funded University "culture" center?!   Why shouldn't virgins, or people who
like to have sex with children, or with 3 or more people at a time get a
special "culture" center as well?!  Wow - what is this University coming to.
	IUYAF was extremely pleased with the decision of the University to cut
the funding of such a center and leave it up to private donations. That was a 
major victory for the conservative groups on campus, not to mention for
the rational students who opposed the center all along.  Now the GLB community
is throwing a temper tantrum because they're going to have to promote their
homosexuality with their own effort.  Heavens to Betsy, Martha, ya better call
the press.
	In response to these absurd "demands," IUYAF will be sponsoring the
Straight version of Queer Pride Week.  This week will essentially be what the
GLB has every year in November, yet it will be for straight people.  This
should sound absolutely absurd to you - good for you, because that's what it
is.  We are light-heartedly demonstrating the irrational and idiotic demands of
the radical extremists here on the Bloomington campus.
	If you're proud to be gay, fine.  If you're proud to be straight, fine. 
The University should not sell out to any individual group simply because of
their sexual orientation. Period.

We will be selling really cool T-Shirts that say DAMN STRAIGHT on the back and
STRAIGHT PRIDE with that cool male/female symbol on the front - so make sure 
you get to the memorabilia tables before they sell-out!
 
Your support is greatly needed - most importantly to show the campus that a
great number of people out there don't like what's happening at, in, and around 
this University, especially when speaking of powerful liberal influences.
