Mr. Covey is probably a fairly decent neighbor if you were to meet him on the street outside his house. Personal attacks on him, and any display of anger WILL BACKFIRE. It rarely changes minds (although there isn't much hope of that at this late stage with Mr. Covey), AND IT ALMOST ALWAYS JUSTIFIES FURTHER DISCRIMINATION IN THE MIND OF THE DISCRIMINATOR. The worst thing you can do is make Mr. Covey feel heroic in the face of vituperative letters, emails, etc. Best Regards, Tom Ramsey Ex-officio, Marriage Project Hawaii Here is a copy of my correspondence with Mr. Reynolds: Fro>From jreynolds@covey.com Mon Nov 17 14:31:43 1997 X-Sender: jreynolds@mail.mcr.net (Unverified) To: ramsey@kahuna.math.hawaii.edu (Tom Ramsey) Subject: Re: Covey's appearance in Hawaii Mime-Version: 1.0 At 03:03 PM 11/10/97 -1000, you wrote: >I'm quite dismayed to learn that Mr. Covey >is helping Hawaii's Future Today amend >Hawaii's Constitution to take civil rights >away from gay men and lesbians.
