Aloha Folks,

The "Save Traditional Marriage" organization filed as a new organization with
the State Campaign Spending Commission in November 1997.  However, as of
yesterday according to the commission's staff "Save Traditional Marriage" had
not filed the filing due last Friday.

It is routine for the commission to send letters for late filings.  I
requested an immediate notification of their late filing as this organization
conducted two major fundraisers with Steve Covey which brought local and
national attention.

Since this group is the greatest conveyor of hate and discrimination towards
Hawaii's citizens, I believe we need immediate information as to their
fundraising activities that have demonstrated questionable practices.

As in previous reporting periods I am reviewing all the reports to the
Campaign Spending Commission (political candidates and political action
campaigns that expect to support actual candidates for office) and the State
Ethics Commission (lobbyists and issue political action campaigns).  Anyone
with specific information on these issues that may be relevant, please send
