Subject: SA 198:  Miss Hawai`i Homophobia?

Aloha kakahiaka kakou.

For the past several days there's been "buzz" on the net about what was
actually said, and in what context, by Miss Hawai`i in the Miss America
Contest of last Saturday.  The following is now "considered" to be official.
Can anyone confirm/deny this?

   It was in the first half hour of the pageant. (which I only *listened to*
on a TV band Radio bicycling home.) The fast paced segment was showing how
*grueling* the interview process was earlier in the week. Some contestants
got questions on abortion, the death penalty, etc. And their 1-2 second
answers followed. Here's what I remember : 
   Q : Your state, Hawaii, is among the first to try and legalize same sex
unions. How do you feel about that?
   A: I think it's really sad.
