The Denver Post February 16, 1993 The 'compromise amendment' to the Colorado Constitution proposed by 'Come Together Colorado, led by lawyer Greg Walta, reads as follows: Article II, Section 30b of the Colorado Constitution, commonly known as 'Amendment 2,' is hereby repealed and re-enacted as follows: (1) Prohibition of Discrimination. Neither the state of Colorado nor any of its political subdivisions shall discriminate against any person or group of persons in matters of employment, housing or public accommodations based on sexual orientation. (2) Prohibition of Special Rights. Neither the state of Colorado nor any of its political subdivisions shall establish a preferred legal status for any person or group of persons in matters of employment, housing or public accommodations based upon sexual orientation.
