MURDER IN SAN JOSE

[San Jose, CA: 26 Jan 00] THE BODY OF ALINA,
a transgender youth, was retrieved from the 
trunk of a car here by San Jose police on 
16 Jan 00. Little about the case is known
at this time, but it appears that Alina
suffered injuries to her neck.

	21-year-old Scott Santino, who owned
the car, has been arrested on suspicion of
murder and is being held without bail.

	Alina was well-known at the Billy
DeFrank Lesbian & Gay Community Center in 
San Jose where she worked as a volunteer
and was a member of their youth group.
