STUDENTS APPEAL FOR NATIONAL HELP TO WIN TRANSGENDER GRADUATION SPEAKER We, the seniors at Bradford College in Haverhill, Mass., would like to alert the national community to an issue of bigtory and oppression that we find unconscionable. Leslie Feinberg, transgender activist and author of the novel Stone Butch Blues, was our class nominee for commencement speaker. School president Joseph Short vetoed Leslie Feinebrg's right to speak, offering faulty and offensive reasons for his decision. We are calling on the national (and international!) community to respond and join our voices in demanding that Leslie Feinberg's voice be heard at our graduation ceremony. Please stand with us in solidarity by flooding Dr. Short's fax and phone with messages of support for our choice of Leslie Feinberg as our commencement speaker. Send faxes to Dr. Short: 508/521-0480 Telephone: 508/372-7161 as ask for extension 231 Thank you for your support!! Please pass this message on!!
