Larry? Larry Stratton? Larry D. Stratton you sit down right now and put Hewlett-Packard on that list! Yes, I said Hewlett-Packard. Yeah, Bill and Dave sat down and finally did it. Thanks to the efforts of people other than me, HP has revised its statement of non-discrimination to include sexual orientation. The following came to me through company e-mail: 1992 EQUAL OPPORTUNITY/NONDISCRIMINATION POLICY STATEMENT: "Hewlett-Packard does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, creed, color, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability or (for U.S.) Vietnam-era veteran status." 1992 EMPLOYEE HARASSMENT STATEMENT: "Any comments or conduct relating to a person's race, gender, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or ethic background, that fail to respect the dignity and feeling of the individual are unacceptable." This effort began long before I was aware of it, and I can't even name the people who deserve congratulations, but I'm sure pleased. Mike Drayton mdrayton@sr.hp.com
