It could have been improved, however, by mentioning the many religious bodies that recognize the relationships of same-gender couples, and by mentioning that the government does not dictate which mixed-gender relationships a religious body should recognize. It also would have been better if you had argued directly for issuing marriage licenses to same-gender couples and recognizing marriages of same-gender couples performed in other states, instead of proposing a massive new non-transferable legal category for some Colorado couples.
