From HUGH.DAVIS@mhs.unc.edu Thu Sep 23 10:35:00 1993 From: HUGH.DAVIS@mhs.unc.edu (HUGH) Date: Thu, 23 Sep 93 10:35 Subject: religion and homosexuality Status: OR To: GAYNET Fellow 'netters, I happened to look at the items on our library's new books shelf this morning and I came across this one which, given the recent request for information on Islam and homosexuality, I thought I would post. I have not yet looked at it with any degree of thoroughness, so I cannot judge its contents, its readability, its perspectives, and so on. Swidler, Arlene (ed.). Homosexuality and World Religions. Valley Forge, PA: Trinity Press International, 1993. The book includes chapters on the traditional religions of the Americas and Africa, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and Chinese and Japanese religions. The introduction states that, whenever possible, any given chapter was written by someone from within that faith tradition, so the chapter on Islam was written by a Muslim.
