                        Dean Hamer, Ph.D.

Dean Hamer Ph.D. is Chief of the Section on Gene Structure and Regulation 
at the National Cancer Institute.  Dr. Hamer led the team that discovered 
the the existence of a gene on the X chromosome that influences sexual 
orientation in men.  The team is continuing the research in women.  Dr. 
Hamer is the author of _The_Science_of_Desire:_The_Search_for_the_Gay_Gene_ 
and_Biology_of_Behavior_ and will discuss his work.

A reception will follow the lecture at Blah Blah Cafe and Urban 
Inversion, 8246-8248 Santa Monica Blvd. (near Harper), West Hollywood, 
where Dr. Hamer will be available to sign his book (for sale at Urban 
Inversion).
