NGLTF APPLAUDS INJUNCTION AGAINST CINCINNATI'S PRO-DISCRIMINATION ISSUE 3

Washington, D.C.  -- (November 16, 1993) -- The National Gay and Lesbian Task
Force (NGLTF) issued the following statement today in response to the
decision of U.S. District Judge Arthur Spiegel to enjoin the city charter
amendment that would have prohibited anti-discrimination protection for gay
men, lesbians, and bisexuals:

"This injunction takes the wind out of the sails of the Far Right who are
devoting a tremendous amount of resources to passing these types of
pro-discrimination measures.  The Task Force is encouraged by the swift
action taken by Judge Spiegel to block Issue 3's implementation and sees it
as a significant step towards the elimination of these anti-gay,
pro-discrimination referendums that face voters in 8 - 13 states in 1994."
