          IRS DENIES EQUALITY TO GLB DOMESTIC PARTNERS

    Broward Log Cabin "Lincoln Free Republicans" of Florida denounces the
recent bias determination of the IRS to tax health and other social
benefits being offered by companies to domestic partners - solely because
of sexual orientation- as not only discriminatory but reprehensible.

    We call upon President Clinton, community leaders and all who are
supportive of equality of rights to recognize this action for exactly what
it is, underhanded discrimination. We ask for courage and leadership from
the head of the Department of Justice in exposing this imbalance on the
scale of social justice.

    Sadly the GLB community is continually called upon for financial and
moral support by a number of political leaders. Activists demonize gay and
non-gay Republicans while "Gay Dollars" stream forth often falling on
fallow ground which nurtures hypercritical lip service on the issue of
equality of rights accompanied by a facade of liberty and justice for all.

    In frustration, the disenchanted call upon Gay Republicans to return
home to the roost. We call upon the "Community Town Criers" to announce to
the nation and its political leaders that it's time for the politicians to
earn the support and vote of the grass roots not just expect it. They must
be held accountable for their actions, or lack thereof.
