Hello!

This year, the Vancouver Pride Parade is being held on Monday, August 
7th (it's always held on the first monday in august...this is 
traditionially a holiday in British Columbia).  The parade is 
scheduled to start at noon on Denman St. and wind it's way down along 
Beach Ave. to Sunset Beach.  Following the parade will be the Pride 
Concert at Sunset Beach and this, in turn, will be followed by Pride 
the Party at the West End Community Centre!

In addition, Pride Week actually kicks off the week prior to the 
parade.  Festivities start with the Teddy Bear's Picnic (this may be 
renamed) on Saturday, July 29th.  This is a very relaxed event 
enjoyed by all...tentatively it is planned for Stanley Park.  As an 
added attraction, the evening will be capped with the Benson & Hedges 
Symphony of Fire fireworks competition off English Bay.
