     Victory Fund Supports Eleven More Openly Gay Candidates 
       National Slate Includes Two Congressional Hopefuls
                         ================

WASHINGTON, DC -- October 1995 --  The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund
has recommended eleven more openly gay and lesbian candidates to its
national donor network, including two candidates for the U.S. House of
Representatives.  All eleven candidates have undergone rigorous screening to
determine their viability as potential public officials, according to Victory
Fund Executive Director David Clarenbach.  The qualified candidates and
their races, in order of election dates, are:

--  Barbra Kavanaugh for Buffalo [NY] City Council; General: 7 Nov. 95  
--  Myles Burke for Mayor of Gloucester [MA]; General: 7 Nov. 95   
--  Craig Covey for Ferndale [MI] City Council; General: 7 Nov. 95 
--  Jon Spampinato for Cambridge [MA] City Council; General: 7 Nov. 95 
--  Katherine Triantafillou for Cambridge City Council; General: 7 Nov. 95 
--  Christopher Kolb for Ann Arbor [MI] City Council; General: 7 Nov. 95  
--  Larry McKeon for Illinois House of Reppresentatives; Primary: 19 Mar 96 
--  Gail Shibley for Portland City Council; Primary: 21 May 96
--  Richard Zbur for U.S. House of Representatives [CA-38]; Primary: 3/26/96
--  Dale McCormick for U.S. House of Representatives [ME-1]; Primary:
