NAVAL WITCH HUNT:  In the first case challenging a witch hunt for gays and
lesbians in the US Navy, Seaman Amy Barnes was forced into federal court
last week to stop attempts by the Navy to discharge her on grounds of
homosexual conduct.  A restraining order issued on Friday, March 29,
temporarily prevents the Navy from taking action against her.  There is
evidence that Barnes is one of 60 women targeted in a witch hunt aboard the
USS Simon Lake.  The next step in this case is a preliminary injunction
hearing scheduled for April 12th.  For more information contact Dixon

LONG ROAD TO FREEDOM WINDS ON: The Long Road to Freedom, an exhibition
chronicling the gay and lesbian movement co-sponsored by GLAAD, The
Advocate, and Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, makes its second stop from April
11-April 21 in St. Louis, MO.  The exhibit will be on the campus of
Washington University, with a gala event scheduled for April 13.  For more

LAST MAJOR STUDIO OFFERS DOMESTIC PARTNER BENEFITS:  Joining MGM/UA,
DreamWorks, and hundreds of other entertainment organizations, Fox, Inc.
has announced that it will extend spousal heath care benefits to employees'
same-sex partners.  Now all major studios offer same-sex partner benefits.
"It's the fair thing to do as far as compensating all employees equally"
said Tamra King, GLAAD's Entertainment Media Director.  "It sends a very
strong message from the entertainment industry that  everybody's families

PAWS AND PRAYERS:  The Metropolitan Community Church of L.A. and PAWS/LA
(Pets are Wonderful Support) are joining forces with a local pet supply
store  on Saturday, April 6 to support people with AIDS/HIV.  PAWS is an
organization that cares for and feeds pets of persons with AIDS in order to
keep people and pets together.  At 10:30AM each individual pet will be
blessed in West Hollywood Park.  The West Hollywood Players, a gay and
lesbian choir, will perform for the free event.  For more information about
