This preview will benefit the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), a national organization that promotes fair, accurate and inclusive representation as a means of challenging discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity. Set in World War II's Germany, "Bent" painfully depicts the Nazi' s ruthless and barbarous treatment of gays and lesbians and the courage and love displayed by the men and women who suffered so cruelly at their tormentors' hands. The history of the atrocities committed by Hitler's troops on gays and lesbians is a long and brutal one. Those wearing pink triangles were often considered the vilest offenders of the human race, mistreated by prisoners and guards alike. Those who managed to survive the prison camps often found themselves abused a second time by a criminal justice system which saw them not as victims but as those guilty of the "crime" of homosexuality. The benefit will be held on Saturday, March 16, at 7:30 p.m. and the reception will be held thereafter. Tickets may be purchased for $25.00 and includes the preview performance and a champagne reception following the show. All proceeds from the event will be donated to GLAAD. Reservations may be made by calling the theater at (818) 440-0821 or Danny Leclair at (213) 851-3244. ## ****************************************************************************** Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) glaad@glaad.org http://www.glaad.org The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, GLAAD, is a national organization that promotes fair, accurate and inclusive representation of individuals and events in the media as a means of combatting homophobia and all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity. **************************************************************************** **
