American Studies Association
Sexual Minority Scholars(hip) Caucus =


Announcing the formation of a Sexual Minority Scholars(ship) Caucus,
within the American Studies Association, for those who are interested in
issues regarding sexual minorities, gay men, lesbian women,
bisexualities, transgender concerns, Queer theories and, by extension,
heterosexualities.  Participants need not identify with any sexual
minority category, merely have a scholarly interest. The Caucus will
serve as a forum for promoting the study of sexualities within the
Association, networking, paper and panel coordination, contribution to
the Association=92s electronic and paper resources, and as a general
touchstone for interested scholars in American Studies.

The first meeting of the Caucus will be at the American Studies annual
conference,Washington D.C.  October 30-November 2, 1997, times and place
to be announced in the conference program.
