Revised Nov. 30, 1991 Attention Gay Male Poets All 22 publications below welcome gay poetry. That does not mean that they focus primarily on poetry, only that if you write poetry, you might find a forum here. Those marked with an asterisk are community newspapers; focus accordingly. E.g., RFD focuses on rural gay male life, whereas Christopher Street belongs of coffee tables of the salons of NYC. If you call yourself a poet, you should already know at least six or seven of these. Most will send you a sample for $3. Know your audience before you perform for them. Submit your manuscripts in a professional manner..... (Sorry, those of you who already know these things.) Many of these welcome lesbian poetry as well. Since I collected this list for my own use, I did not monitor that fact, nor did I not include any of the many exclusively lesbian publications that publish poetry. I hope this list helps connect manuscripts with readers.
