The Twilight of the Golds, which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, will be released by Avalanche, a division of Cinepix Film Properties, on October 24, 1997. WHO: The film stars Jennifer Beals, Faye Dunaway, Brendan Fraser, Garry Marshall, Jon Tenney and Rosie O'Donnell. Twilight was directed by Ross Marks from a screenplay by Jonathan Tolins and Seth Bass, adapted from Tolin's controversial play. WHEN: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22, at 7:00 p.m. WHERE: Sneak previews will be held in San Francisco at the Landmark Lumiere Theatre (1572 California Street), in Chicago at the Sony Theatres Pipers Alley (1608 N. Wells), and in New York at the Quad Cinema (34 W. 13th Street). WHY: GLAAD is a national organization that promotes fair, accurate and inclusive representation of individuals and events in the media as a means of combating homophobia and all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity. MORE: Twilight begins as Suzanne Gold-Stein (Beals) joyfully shares news of her pregnancy with Husband Rob (Tenney), adoring parents Phyllis and Walter Gold (Dunaway and Marshall), and beloved brother, David (Fraser), who is gay. Rob, a geneticist, submits the unborn child to a battery of state-of-the-art tests. It is determined that the child (a boy) carries a gene that appears in more than 90% of all gay men; more than likely, Suzanne and Rob's son will grow up to be gay. Beset by arguments and by their own contradictory feelings and beliefs, the Golds soon realize that even a family's unconditional love comes with certain conditions. Each of them must re-examine their most basic assumptions about being a parent, being a child and being oneself. TICKETS: Tickets are free to GLAAD members and non-members, but seating is limited.
