Write In Support of Same Sex  Marriage

Years ago, there was a standard  joke that men in gay bars told when a
new-comer  said, "I  had no idea there so many people like me". The answer
was, "There aren't. there are only two of us.  It's all done  with mirrors."
We could really use a few of those mirrors now. Does anyone doubt that the
court's decision in an Hawaiian   to allow same sex marriages has caused
religious political extremist to order zombie horde to write letters to
every newspaper in America? 

We may not have the zombie hordes of letter writers yet, but we do have
smarts on our side and technology --the modern day equivalent of those
legendary mirrors. Bill Stosine, a master of letters to the editor,  sent
out a request for letters earlier today with a list of e-mail addresses
urging people to write. He stressed that hot issues and   numbers were
important considerations for editors. Newspapers print letters pro and con
in proportion to the numbers they receive. So, for anyone who wants the
satisfaction of helping the cause by sending  letters  to all of the papers
on the list , I  have condensed Bill Stosine's list  into  data  that can be
used immediately.

A word of caution:  Please use this list only if your software will suppress
it .  As Bill says, newspapers may  not print letters they know are going to
other papers. One of the easiest  ways to suppress the list  is to paste
the list under  Blind copy or BCC on your e-mail software. If you are not
absolutely  sure what this is, or if your software does not have a simply
way to suppress a list, then do not attempt to use the list .   

Since Bill is the master. let me repeat his  advice:.

All you have to do is:

1.  Start a new message on your e-mail software.
2.  Write a letter about same sex marriage, Keep it short!  Many papers
limit letters to 200 or 300 words.
3.  In the message, address it,  "To The Editor:".
4.  Add you name, address and phone number at he bottom so the papers can
confirm. 
5.  Paste the list  below into the BCC or wherever  your software will
suppress it.
6.  Send it!
