Date: Wed, 23 Oct 1996 05:12:00 -1000 From: S Silverstein Subject: Nov 7 ABC show on Gay Marriage/Parenting ABC's highly regarded Turning Point program (Thursday 10-11pm Eastern time) is doing an hour long special on gay marriage. The air date is scheduled for Thursday November 7. The show's format is to focus on the personal experiences of several people affected by a given issue (no experts or politicos weigh in pro or con). In the case of this show, there will be four couples profiled -- three who have recently had a commitment ceremony, including a Jewish gay male couple from Toronto, a lesbian couple who are both ministers and have raised children from previous heterosexual marriages, and a gay male Episcopalian couple who are lawyers in SF. The fourth couple is my partner Annette and me. We had an interfaith ceremony in 1992, so our story is the "life goes on" segment. It will include some ceremony footage, and then our preparing for and enjoying our baby who was born last week. By the way, the show found us through our commitment ceremony web site at: http://www.nyu.edu/pages/sls/cc/cchome.html
