Dear Members Of The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual And Transgender Community: Do the following comments sound familiar to your GLBT student organization? Two or three people end up doing all the work. Sometimes we fight against ourselves more than we do anything else. When those who are dating within the group break-up, tension rises, headaches pound and rumors fly. The University of Minnesota GLBT Programs Office, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the Human Rights Campaign Fund and the United States Student Association are hosting a special GLBT Grass Roots Organizing Weekend (GROW) as part of National Coming Out Week, 1995. From October 13-15, the University of Minnesota will be hosting a conference specifically designed for GLBT student organizations and the problems that are endemic to campus organizing. The conference will also focus on developmental concerns that tend to get in the way of GLBT student organizing. This conference will also serve as the 2nd annual Minnesota Queer Student Conference! Please read and inform others about the materials below. Once we receive your response, lodging and other information will be sent to you. In addition, from October 9th through October 15, 1995 there will be a full week of activities for National Coming Out Day. We will also send you a schedule of these activities so you can join us for all the fun. There is NO fee for any of these activities! If you or anyone else you know is interested either forward this information or give us a call, ASAP, at the GLBT Programs Office at (612) 625-6042. We can also be reached by email at: glbt@maroon.tc.umn.edu. We look forward to hearing from you soon and hope that you can join students from around the country at the University of Minnesota, October 13 to October 15, 1995.
