Have something you want to say about: - what it's like to be an LGBTQQ youth in the Bay Area? - what a LGBTQQ friend has gone through because of the way s/he is treated? HAVE YOUR SAY AND GET PAID FOR IT (amount to be determined)!!! This summer, we will be working with a professional photographer on the creation of an interactive photo essay exhibit that will travel to high schools all over the Bay Area. No experience necessary! We will train you! Time: Workshops start June 22 and will be every Tuesday & Thursday from 3-6 p.m., Workshops will be once a week from August 22-October 24. The Camp is open to any LGBTQQ youth or straight ally youth who care about fighting homophobia. Planned and led by youth, the camp is designed to give GSA members the skills and tools they need to improve their GSAs. The event will also give participants an opportunity to become involved with broader organizing through the Bay Area GSA Network and the Youth Council. UK: Repeal of Clause 28 may implement statutory guidelines Reuters, May 12, 2000 Scotland denies climbdown over Section 28 By Ross Colvin LONDON (Reuters) - Scottish Labour ministers on Friday denied a major climbdown over controversial government plans to repeal Section 28, the law that bans schools from teaching the acceptability of homosexuality. In response to concerns expressed by parents, the Scottish executive said on Thursday it would give statutory backing to the guidance it issues to local education authorities on how sex education should be taught.
